We have students interested in so many things! I'm happy to see the enthusiasm these guys bring to class. This week I'll be working again with some students on the basics of wheel throwing and trimming, and if anybody has completed pieces we can do some sgraffito, slip designs, or add handles.
Timing is everything with clay, and since these classes are weekly it can feel like it takes forever for things to dry in the slow and steady pace that they need. But these students have been patient and it is so worth it - we have already fired some excellent pieces! Pictures to be posted soon!
P.S. Critique will be planned for the end of May, on the 27th! Don't worry, its not as scary as you might think. Especially with all of the great work these guys are making!
P.P.S. EAC's Student Show is in September which will be here sooner than you know it! Think about some interesting pieces you'd like to make as a goal for the show. Maybe a pot that is at least a foot tall? A series of identical cups? A sculpture? Think outside the box!
